Can I run CGI / Perl scripts?

Your web hosting account supports CGI scripts, such as those written in Perl, C, or other languages. You can add CGI scripts to work with your web content, enabling you to develop highly interactive, powerful web-based applications.

You can develop CGI scripts on your desktop machine, or find other "ready made" CGI scripts, and then transfer the .cgi or .pl files to your hosting account using FTP.

You will likely wish to create a special directory inside your web directory in which to place your script files (ie: cgi-bin). Make sure that you assign appropriate executable (755) permissions. Once the file is in your hosting account, use your FTP program to assign executable (755) permissions.

The path to Perl is /usr/bin/perl.
