Our e-mail servers are configured to use a variety of spam-blocking techniques. It is possible that the person trying to send you legitimate email is using a mailserver that has been involved in sending unsolicited commercial bulk e-mail (aka: spam). We take a fairly aggressive stance against spam, and as a service to you and in an effort to keep our bandwidth as clean as possible, we filter for spam.

The sender may be receiving an error message something like this:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'user@domain.tld'. Subject 'Sample Subject', Account: 'www.domain.tld', Server: 'www.domain.tld', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Mail from 192.168.0.100 Email blocked using Abuseat - see ', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

This error message is important and will help you to diagnose the exact nature of your problem. Look at the section that says "550 Mail from..." and take note of the IP address listed there. That is your IP address. The server is reporting to you that your IP address is listed on a blacklist, designated by the portion of the message that says "Email blocked using Abuseat". Visit http://www.virtbiz.com/rbl.html and click on the link that matches the blacklist that was used to block your message. Then you can investigate the matter with the operator of the blacklist.
